KnowHow: Forms --- Bandwidth, Rate of connection

Forms

If you are conducting online research on a regular basis you should find out about the user's Internet connection rate. Generally you should always assume the lowest possibility (especially when you work with reaction times), but sometimes it can be surprising how well the technical standard of "normal" users is. In that case you are able to run even more complex studies than you have planned (e.g. with students at university computers).

This is what it could look like:

Connection rate as radio buttons

A typical question could be: What is your Internet connection rate?

What is your Internet connection rate?
 Up to 33.6 kBit/s (Modem)
Up to 64.4 kBit/s (ISDN or similar)
Up to 128 kBit/s (2 channel ISDN or similar)
Up to 2 MBit/s (DSL, Flatrate or similar)
More than 2 MBit/s (usually big company networks)
