We are studying attitudes about rape and their impact on judgements about defendants and complainants. In particular, we are concerned with the views of members of the general public potentially eligible for jury service who may be put in a position to decide about rape complaints in court. Getting Things Done: Exploring the role of Personality, Stress, and Time (Deadline: from February 8 to)

The purpose of this study is to explore how factors such as personality, stress, and time influence the performance of tasks, and if this in turn affects health. Participation in this study takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete. Given what we know about prototypical thinking, people may define creativeness differently and a common way to explore the pattern of lay person’s perception of creativity is to ask people their views on the matter. Gay Male Relationships Study (Deadline: from Jan 2006 to Late 2006)

What factors contribute to the success and quality of gay male relationships? Limited research has been conducted in this area but this unique new research study is investigating gay male parental relationships and adult, intimate, same-sex relationships of gay men from perspectives that have primarily been studied only in heterosexual relationships. Be part of this important new research study that may have important implications in the understanding of gay male development and the relationships of gay men. This research study involves participation in a one-time, voluntary, completely anonymous, Internet-based survey. Feelings about Relationships (Deadline: from to)

This is a voluntary online research study on relationships conducted by Maya Sakellaropoulo, Graduate Student, and Mark Baldwin, PhD, Associate Professor from the Department of Psychology at McGill University. The study involves filling out several online questionnaires, which generally takes between 10 to 15 minutes. There is no deception involved in this study and the Research Ethics Board II at McGill University has approved this study. The purpose of this study is to explore the types of preventative health and household safety behaviours people engage in and to understand how factors such as personality, health beliefs, and past experiences with health and safety issues may influence the performance of these health behaviours. If you are a childhood cancer survivor who is at least 18 years of age, you are invited to participate in a research study to learn more about physical activity in young adults who have had cancer when they were children or teenagers. If you are eligible for the study and decide to participate, you will complete an Internet survey. Then you will wear a pedometer (step counter) and record your daily activities for 7 days. Parental Help-Seeking and Service Utilization Attitudes (Deadline: ongoing)

The purpose of the study is to find out what sources of advice parents would use to help a teenager with a mental health problem, such as adolescent alcohol abuse. This study is also interested in finding out what services parents prefer to treat a teenager with a mental health problem, such as adolescent alcohol abuse. A psychotherapy researcher (D'Arcy Reynolds) currently conducting a university sanctioned study needs a few men and women who are currently engaged in the practice of internet therapy (e.g., e-mail therapy or chat therapy). Therapists and clients with FIVE FREE MINUTES a week can contribute to research investigating this technologically innovative manner of assisting those in need.
You will not have to surrender the details of your confidential exchanges/sessions, as this study aims to target only your experiencing of the exchanges/sessions and of the therapist-client relationship. This very brief weekly reflection on the exchanges/sessions and the relationship may even enhance the therapeutic experience.
